Adventure Awaits

As I sit here and reflect on the journey that is ahead I can't help but realize that the journey has already begun and this adventure I am on, it is just the beginning. I know that like anything else there are a lot of unknowns in my future. That will be the same with every passing year as new faces come into my classroom (gym), however with change comes growth. I'm going to sure try my very hardest to be the best teacher I can be right off the bat, however I know experience is one of the best learning tools. My goal will only be to continue to improve and be better for my students. To look back on last week's blog topic, how much times have changed. That is never going to stop. With time comes new and innovative ideas and with that comes reason to change and grow. I will make it a priority to stay in tune with all that is changing because how can i be the best for my students if I get stuck in 2017.

I graduated college in 2013 with my undergraduate degree in Kinesiology. While studying at the University of Illinois, I became a personal trainer. I have been doing this for the past 7 years. I have a true passion for physical fitness and making others feel better about themselves. I have worked at various gyms over the years, but one of the gyms I worked at needed help in their "Kids Korner" where parents drop their kids off while they go and work out. It was there that I realized how much i truly enjoy working with kids, and loved seeing how happy they get when they achieve something. With being a Mommy of a 2 year old I realized that continuing to work a personal trainer's schedule will become very difficult once my son is in school, seeing as how I train people when they get off work, which meant when he got home from school I would be gone. This idea didn't sit well with me. That is when I decided I needed to go after my true calling and combine my two passions together and go back to school for physical education & here we are!

I can't wait to continue this experience and I hope to truly make a difference in my future student's lives!
